One terrorist was gunned down by security forces in an encounter that broke out at Kralpora and Chadoora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district early Friday morning, according to reports. However, the firing has now stopped and a search operation is currently underway in the area.
"Budgam encounter, Jammu and Kashmir: Firing stopped, body of one terrorist recovered. Search operation underway," the news agency ANI reported.

Early in the day, 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), accompanied by 43 battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), launched a join cordon and search operation following certain inputs about the presence of terrorists in Budgam.
As the forces were conducting searches, the hiding terrorists fired upon them. The security forces retaliated the firing, triggering off a gunbattle in the area.
