Far cry from the massive Opposition charge against the Election Commission on the issue of hacking of EVMs in recent assembly elections, only NCP has submitted application to participate in EVM Challenge thrown open by the election body. The deadline to submit the application for the 'EVM Challenge', announced on May 21, was 5PM on Friday.
"Eight political parties sent a response to EC till 5 pm today, NCP expressed their interest in participating in EVM Challenge," EC spokesperson said on Friday.
AAP and Congress raised some issue but as per existing framework of the challenge but did not express their interest in participating, the official said.
"NCP has nominated its three representatives for participating in EVM challenge. EC will bring EVMs from Punjab, UP, Uttarakhand for the challenge," the spokesperson added.
