The issue of 'Kairana exodus', the alleged migration of Hindus from the town in Shamli district in western part of Uttar Pradesh, has rocked not just the state but the entire country. This has also led to a continued war of words between the political parties.
According to BJP leaders, scores of Hindu families have migrated from Kairana. Why did these families leave? Where have they gone? What troubles are they facing currently? News Nation has tried to find the answers to all such questions.
From Saharanpur to Uttarakhand's Haridwar to Rajasthan's Kota, News Nation reporters found some of these families. They tried to find out what made these families leave their own home.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a probe in the matter. BJP MP from Kairana, Hukum Singh has alleged that 346 families have been forced to flee the town, which has 85 per cent of Muslim population.
