Bangalore Police on Monday arrested four men for allegedly using the coloured photocopy of new currency of Rs 2,000 denomination in a wine shop. 

“A case of fake 2000 new denomination notes has been detected in Jnana Bharthi police station, wherein the accused allegedly photo-stated new currency notes and tried to use them in market,” informed Anucheth, DCP Bangalore West. 

On Monday, the owner of a wine shop in Bangalore caught two men - Shashank, 22 and Madhukumar, 19 trying to use the fake notes in his establishment. A case was registered as Cr no 337/16 u/s 489b and 420 on the basis of his complaint.
 According to police, the Shashank and Madhukumar, along with two other accomplices, used similar fake notes in other bars and wine stores.  

They had made 25 fake notes. 8 fake notes have been recovered so far, the police said.
