Setback For Pakistan To Be In 'Grey List', Pressure On Them To Act: Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat After FATF Warning

Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Saturday termed the ‘grey listing’ of Pakistan by the FATF as a setback for neighbouring nation. He said that the pressure was on Islamabad to take action against the terrorists working from its soil. "There is pressure on them. They have to take action. We would like them to work towards restoring peace. To be on such a 'Grey List' is a setback for any nation," Army Chief was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. Kamlesh Tiwari Murder: Maulana Behind Rs 51 Lakh Bounty Arrested From UP's Bijnor

Maulana Anwarul Haq, the Muslim cleric who had announced a Rs 51-lakh bounty for beheading former Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari, was arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor. The arrest came a day after Tiwari was murdered by unidentified assailants in Lucknow on Friday. In her police complaint, Tiwari’s wife had alleged that two Maulanas from Bijnor had threatened to kill her husband in 2016. The Lucknow Police had filed an FIR on basis of the complaint. Read more…

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday iterated that Supreme Court’s judgment on Ayodhya land dispute case will be fully implemented by the state government. Talking exclusively to News Nation, the chief minsiter said also praised the top court for concluding the hearing in the politically sensitive case. “We praise the Supreme Court for concluding the hearing in such an old case. Now the judgment has been reserved, everyone should wait for it and accept it. We have full faith in the Supreme Court. India-US Bilateral Defence Trade To Reach $18 Billion This Year: Pentagon

Ahead of the ninth India-US Defence Technologies and Trade Initiative or DTTI group meeting in New Delhi next week, the Pentagon on Saturday said the bilateral defence trade between the two countries is expected to reach USD 18 billion by year end. Undersecretary Of Defense For Acquisition And Sustainment Ellen M Lord said the US is committed to strengthen its partnership with India while furthering military-to-military relationships and cooperation. "Bilateral defence trade, essentially zero in 2008, will reach an estimated USD 18 billion later this year," she told reporters at the Pentagon. Read more…

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Friday warned Pakistan of backlisting it if it does not control terror funding by February 2020.
