According to political pundits, the differences came between Congress and Vaghela after he learnt that he is not the chief minister choice for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly Elections. Vaghela’s visit to New Delhi this week was being speculated as a move to promote himself as the chief ministerial candidate.

According to sources, the Gujarat Congress unit is divided in two groups. One led by Vaghela and the other by Bharat Singh Solanki.

Prior going to New Delhi, Vaghela had said that he would not join the BJP, but had expressed his resentment over the functioning of the party in Gujrat.

Vaghela then had said, “I have spoken to Congress leaders in Delhi about the need to prepare for the Gujarat assembly elections. But, a group of leaders in the state here are working to get me out of the party.”
