Rewa:
Five men drowned after sudden rise in water level at Purwa fall, located 20 kms away from the Rewa district.
According to witnesses, one of the five men slipped from rock and other four jumped into water to save him. The flow was so strong that none of the five men survived to return on the land.
After locals reported the incident to police, SP Sanjay Kumar and Collector Rahul Jain visited the site.
None of the five drowned men has been identified yet. Witnesses have blamed authorities for the tragic incident. They claim that gates from a nearby dam were unlocked without any prior information.
Rescue work will be done on Thursday.
