Former RJD lawmaker Shahabuddin’s nephew shot dead in Bihar’s Siwan
Yusuf, the close aide of former RJD lawmaker Shahabuddin, was shot dead by some unidentified men in Bihar’s Siwan. According to early reports, Yusuf was murdered on Friday night. Though some reports called him nephew of Shahabuddin, News Nation has learnt that he was friend of ex-RJD leader’s son. The police has reached the spot and investigation the matter. Tension prevail in this area of north Bihar. Shahabuddin is also an accused in journalist Rajdeo Ranjan murder case. Besides RJD strongman, charges were also framed against Azahruddin Beig alias Laddan Mian, Vijay Kumar Gupta, Rishu Kumar Jaiswal, Rajesh Kumar, Rohit Kumar Sony, Sonu Kumar Gupta, and Sonu Kumar Sony last month. The court will hear the matter on February 12. However, there are no reports that Yusuf’s murder is connected to this case.
The murder took place in Siwan, Shahabuddin’s home turf. He has been elected from the place for four times. In journalist Rajdeo Ranjan murder case, Shahabuddin has been charged under Indian Penal Code sections 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) and 302 (punishment for murder) as well as section 34 of the Arms Act. Shahabuddin is alleged to have been involved in the murder of Ranjan, a journalist of a prominent Hindi daily in the district.
The former RJD MP is facing trial in more than 45 criminal cases. He was moved to Tihar Jail in the national capital in February 2017 on a Supreme Court order following a plea by Siwan resident Chandrakeshwar Prasad, whose three sons were allegedly killed on behest of Shahabuddin.
