New Delhi:

Former India cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir is known for his generosity and the latest example was seen recently when he helped a minor Pakistani girl in getting a medical Visa for medical treatment in India. Omaima Ali and her family were granted medical visas for heart surgery of the child after the BJP MP wrote a letter to S Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India, on October 1.

Following his letter, Jaishankar asked the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to issue appropriate visas to the girl and her parents. Gambhir has also shared a photo of the letter. He also wrote a couplet while sharing the letter on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The couplet roughly translates into: "A small heart knocked from the other side of the border, the heart wiped out all boundaries on this side... Along with those tiny steps, a sweet breeze has flowed, sometimes it seems as if the daughter has come home,"

Gautam Gambhir Foundation, which is based out of New Delhi, is a charitable organisation that primarily supports the children of martyred soldiers.

He recently announced that his foundation will take care of "100 children of martyred soldiers."

"Making these angels smile is one of the biggest achievements of my life. Congratulations to GG Foundation! Proud to share that we will be taking care of 100 children of martyrs. Their fathers sacrificed their lives for our nation and now its our turn to show how grateful we are!" he tweeted on Sunday.
