Former bureaucrat and elected President of Goa Football Association, Elvis Gomes, was on Monday named as the chief ministerial candidate of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the upcoming Goa Assembly elections.
The announcement was made at a rally led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Cuncolim in South Goa.
Gomes, 53, had taken Voluntary Retirement from service in July this year to join the AAP.
Gomes was Inspector General (Prisons) and was holding the additional charge of Urban Development when he resigned.
After Delhi, Goa is the second state where AAP has declared its CM face before the elections.
