In what could be termed as a shocking development amid the JNU row, search engine giant Google is showing the Jawaharlal Nehru University as ‘anti-national’ in its ‘Google Map’ application. However, the blunder doesn’t look like intentional, has made the Jawaharlal Nehru University furious and created a controversy.
When you search with key words like ‘anti-national’, ‘sedition’, ‘patriotism’ and ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ on Google Maps, it takes you to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
The country was recently in the boil over the alleged ‘anti-national’ activities taking place at the JNU campus like the event allegedly supporting Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and raising of anti-national slogans.
JNSU president Kanhaiya Kumar and other students including mar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya were arrested on the charges of sedition following the JNU row.
