Today is 124th Birthday of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, and Google has paid its tribute to him via a doodle.
Google is known for coming up with interactive and cool doodles on various occasions. The doodle on Dr BR Ambedkar shows a picture of the Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer at the centre of its logo.
Born on April 14, 1891, Ambedkar was Independent India's first law minister, who also inspired the Modern Buddhist Movement. The principal architect of the Constitution of India, he also campaigned against social discrimination against Dalits, women and labour.
As a student, Ambedkar got a law degree and various doctorates from Columbia University and the London School of Economics.
He also became a schola, thanks to his research in law, economics and political science. He was an economist, professor, and lawyer in his early career.
Later, he was significantly involved in political activities. He was posthumously conferred with the Bharat Ratna in 1990. He passed away on December 6, 1956.
