Brushing under the carpet, Bihar Disaster Management Minister Chandra Shekhar on Sunday said the state government was “not answerable” to the deaths of Samastipur and Hajipur (Fathua) due to boat capsize.
“They should've returned after bath but went to dangerous side. Government not answerable, Bihar’s Disaster Management Minister said.
At least 12 people including women and children drown in two separate incidents of boat capsize in Bihar’s Samastipur and Hajipur.

Chander Shekhar, while reacting to these incidents said the government can’t post National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and SDRF everywhere.
He also said the arrangements could have been made if the government had prior information about their programs.
In a tragic incident, a boat carrying more than 30 people capsized on Sunday in Bagmati river of Samastipur district of Bihar. Three bodies were recovered while 8 people have been rescued with the help of local people.
