No matter how much ever we speak about how a few professionals, business owners, experts, leaders and others across industries of the world outperform the rest, push boundaries and make sure to stand distinctive from others for their efforts toward their desired visions and goals in their journeys, it still feels much more discussions are required around them for other aspiring talents to understand their genius. These geniuses ensure to put a firmer foot of themselves in their sectors in order to take over their fields, but ultimately to impact the lives of others in a larger capacity and to inspire them. Govinda Sharma, the former #1 basketball player in India in 3x3 basketball, did that and spellbound people by founding a one-of-a-kind basketball academy in the form of Kaga Basketball Academy in North Bengal, India.

Currently, this incredible basketball player and founder has been garnering much more recognition, for he has now joined hands with Siliguri Traffic Police for the initiative of “The Hoop Car,” in association with Kaga Basketball Academy. The much-talked-about initiative is supported by Siliguri Sikh Youth Forum Welfare. They have together introduced a mobile basketball unit in 3x3 basketball, where people can come and play. They have also been doing this to promote “Safe Drive Safe Life Awareness” and to arrange free coaching for underprivileged children.

Speaking more about the same, Govinda Sharma says that The Hoop Car is the first of its kind in India. Coming up with the concept of a mobile basketball unit is something people did not think about before. Hence, he believed he could bring about a new wave of positive change in the basketball realm by giving people the right opportunities to play the game with this mobile unit. They take the car everywhere where there isn’t any availability of basketball court. It was inaugurated by Shri Akhilesh Yadav, IPS (commissioner of Siliguri Police).

Kaga Basketball Academy is the one to initiate such a brilliant initiative. It is a unique academy known for providing top-notch professional basketball coaching by national-level coaches in North Bengal. Govinda Sharma, who is the academy’s founder and the one who has so far played several international tournaments, winning silver medals at the Gatorade 3 on 3 Challenge, Malaysia in 2022 and at the Kalba Beach Games, Dubai in 2022, says that he wishes this Hoop Car reaches every village in India, to promote basketball and support the underprivileged kids.

He is determined with Kaga Basketball Academy to train underprivileged kids free of cost in their centre.
