The government on Sunday announced an incentive of Rs 10 to be provided to District Collectors/DMs/Deputy Commissioners for every individual who has transited to digital payment mode.
It will be applied to individual who has undertaken at least two successful transactions by any of the 5 methods of digital payment.
The modes include: Unified payment interface (UPI), #USSD (*99#Banking), Aadhar enabled payments, mobile wallets, and Rupay, debit,credit or prepaid cards.
Incentives to be used for creating awareness, organising camps and imparting training to ensure that all citizens use digital payments.The Aayog has also asked district collectors across India to make most of their transactions -disbursements/procurements - through digital payments.
It was also announced that top 10 best performing districts of India will be awarded the digital payment champions award by NITI Aayog/Govt of India.

The first 50 Panchayats which go cashless will be awarded the digital payment award of honour by NITI Aayog/Govt of India.
NITI Aayog will provide up to Rs.5 lakh for every district in India to promote digital payments among citizens right from the Panchayat-level.
NITI has asked district collectors to assemble 'Digital Armies' comprising skilled youth to speed up the transition into digital payment economy.

NITI Aayog writing to states has said that all receivable of the Govt like user charges, penalty, fees collected by any state authority to be made digital. For which NITI will provide all logistic support to district administration to ensure that citizens down to the grassroots transact digitally with ease.
THe NITI will also to track performance of districts admins in helping citizens. Tracking beneficiaries against Jan Dhan accounts & date of e-transactions.
