The Gandhi scion, who was also accompanied by Congress national general secretary Ashok Gehlot, attacked the Narendra Modi-led NDA government over the skyrocketing fuel prices.
“The petrol prices are burdening the common man, we had asked for fuel to be brought under GST but Modi government is not interested,” he said, adding that the profit that comes from the petrol and diesel sell was going directly into the pockets of few big businessmen.
The Congress president was on two-day Maharashtra visit. Earlier on Tuesday, he also appeared before a trial court in Bhiwandi in Thane district in the RSS defamation case.
