Ahead of the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections, Patidar leaders Reshma Patel and Varun Patel joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday, ANI reported.
Both the leaders met BJP president Amit Shah at the party office in Ahmedabad before joining the party.
It can be seen as a blow to Hardik Patel as the duo were reportedly close to him.
Earlier, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Bharat Solanki said “If Hardik Patel wants to contest the election, then Congress invites him to do so,” according to ANI.
