The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday kicked off its campaign in poll-bound Gujarat, blaming the BJP goverment in the state of being “arrogant, corrupt and murderous” and highlighting issue of unemployment.
While launching the party’s campaign, AAP leader and Delhi minister Gopal Rai held a road show that roughly covered a distance of 20 kms in the city, in which thousands of party workers joined him.
During his address to the party workers, Rai, who is the party’s election in-charge for Gujarat, expressed confidence that AAP would unseat the BJP government in the upcoming elections. He also said that the people of the state would respond to the bullets fired by the government through ballots.
“The BJP government is arrogant, corrupt and murderous. The AAP has started a march to bring about a change in the state by throwing out such a government,” Rai said.
He added that the arrogance of BJP government has reached the “peak of the Mount Everest”, and not a single work is possible without corruption.
“Corruption, unemployment, pathetic condition of schools and hospitals, injustice to farmers, are some of the issues faced by the people in the state. The government fires bullets at people when they raise their voice against this. But people will respond to the bullets through ballots,” he said.

The road show started from Nana Chiloda Circle on the outskirts of the city and ended at Sabarmati riverfront, after which some leaders of the party visited the Sabarmati Ashram to pay obeisance to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
The AAP had recently made an announcement that it would contest the upcoming assembly polls in Gujarat.
