The Gurgaon Police on Tuesday have arrested over 30 people for allegedly running illegal call centers to dupe people of money, both in India and abroad, by luring them with ‘tempting offers.

The Gurgaon Police claims to have busted 10 illegal call centers being run in the city by the arrested 30 persons.

A senior police officer said, “The raids were carried out in 10 call centers after they received inputs from Cyber Cell about the illegal firms.”

He added that, Cyber Cell unit of the Haryana Police received information about the 10 call centers being run in the city to dupe people over the phone.

DCP crime Sumit Kumar said, “The raided 10 call centers did not have valid license. The employees of these call centers used to English and other foreign languages to honey trap people.”

“We have seized several laptops, computers, mobile phones and computer servers from the illegal call centers,” said Kumar.

Police have registered an FIR against the owners and employees of the call centers at the Sector 18 and Udyog Vihar police stations.
