Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, Dera Sacha Sauda chief, was on Friday granted bail by a special CBI court in a case related to the alleged castration of 400 of his followers.
Ram Rahim, however, will have to have stay in jail as he is serving sentence for raping two of his women followers. He was convicted by a Panchkula court in August last year. The court had also rejected Ram Rahim’s bail application in the castration case in August this year.

The petitioner had claimed that he and 400 other followers of Ram Rahim were allegedly castrated inside the Dera premises with the false hope that such emasculation would lead to realisation of God.
