The CBI special court is likely to pronounce verdict in a molestation case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim on Friday.

In the wake of verdict, security has been tightened in Punjab’s Faridkot. Anticipating uproar by the followers, police are keeping a tight vigil.

Gurmeet said in a tweet on Thursday that he has always respected the law of land. He added that despite having pain in his back, he will appear in court on Friday. Gurmeet also appealed people to maintain peace.

To control the situation, police have been deployed in Panchkula, Sirsa and Chandigarh. Almost 150 companies of security forces have been deployed.

On the other hand, the number of followers are constantly increasing. His supporters are praying for acquittal of Gurmeet Ram Rahim in the case.

The leaves of top police officials in the state have been cancelled in view of the tensed situation. Section 144 has been imposed across Punjab.

Apart from this, Chandigarh cricket stadium has been vacated so that it can be converted into a temporary jail in case of contingency.
