Hardik Patel, the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader, was on Friday hospitalised after his health deteriorated. Hardik has been on indefinite hunger strike since August 25, demanding reservations for the Patidar community under the OBC category. He also demanded loan waiver for farmers in Gujarat.
The PAAS leaders on late Wednesday had given an ultimatum that Hardik would stop drinking water from Thursday if the BJP government in the state failed to initiate talks over his demands in the next 24 hours.

Hardik was admitted to the Government Civil Hospital in Gujarat's Sola, after he compliained of difficulty in breathing, according to reports.
PAAS convener Manoj Panara claimed that the government had not shown any intention to find a solution despite Hardik’s health deteriorating by the day.
