Many parts of India, including the national capital, woke up to a cool and pleasant rain-washed morning on Monday. Partly cloudy sky, the morning recorded a minimum temperature at 29.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, according to the weatherman.
Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rain for the day at a few places over coastal Karnataka, South interior Karnataka, Kerala, Konkan, Goa, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Also, heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, the weatherman at the India Meteorological Department said.
Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning are likely to hit isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Heat wave conditions are likely to affect one or two pockets over West Rajasthan.
Squally winds speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely along over Odisha and West Bengal Coasts and North Bay of Bengal. Sea condition is likely to be rough over Odisha and West Bengal Coasts and North Bay of Bengal. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, according to the IMD.
