Highlighting the plight of Sindhi population and grave violation of human rights in Pakistan, a Sindh activist in Houston urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump to help the people of Sindh province get freedom from Pakistan’s atrocities in the region. “Sindhi people have come here in Houston with a message. When Modi ji passes through here in morning, we'll be here with our message that we want freedom. We hope Modi ji and President Trump help us”; ANI quoted Sindh activist Zafar as saying. Zafar added that India helped Bangladesh in getting freedom from Pakistan in 1971, New Delhi should also free the Sindhi population from Pakistan’s occupation.
He alleged Islamabad of conducting genocide and crushing the rights of people in Pakistan. ‘Fascist’ and ‘terrorist’ state of Pakistan is run by the ISI and the military and there’s no democracy in place in the country, he added.
Representatives of Sindhi, Baloch and Pashto groups also gathered in Houston to hold a demonstration in front of the NRG stadium on Sunday to draw the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump for gaining freedom from Pakistan.
Members of these groups alleged that the Pakistani state has been carrying out gross violation of human rights against their communities.
Moreover, PM Modi is scheduled to address ‘Howdy Modi’ event which will also be attended by US President Donald Trump. Prime Minister Modi will fly to New York from Houston, where he is scheduled to meet President Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The event to be held at the NRG football stadium in Houston is set to be the largest gathering ever for an elected foreign leader visiting the US, other than the Pope.
