The BSF on Wednesday seized three packets of heroin, worth Rs 12.5 crore in international market, a Chinese pistol, magazines and live cartridges in the area under Basti Ram Lal Border Out Post in Ferozepur sector of Punjab.
“Jawans posted at the Out Post today heard some suspicious sound from the other side of the border security fence but were not able to see anything due to dense fog,” BSF Punjab Frontier DIG and Spokesperson R S Katariya said.
“Later on searching the SPOT, three packets of heroin, weighing around 2.5 kg and worth Rs 12.5 crore, one Chinese pistol, two magazines and 13 live cartridges were recovered,” the BSF official said.
This year, about 7.5 kg heroin has been recovered by the force from the border area. Besides it, two Indian citizens and one Bangladeshi national have been arrested so far, the officer said.
