The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed chargesheets in connection with disproportionate assets case (DA) in CBI court. The court mentioned names of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Vir Bhadra Singh and his wife in the case.
The Delhi Court also vacated Himachal Pradesh court order restraining CBI from arresting, interrogating or filing charge sheet against Virbhadra Singh and his wife in the case.
"The writ petition is dismissed. Stay is vacated," the Delhi court said in the matter.
Last year in August, the CBI had told the Delhi High Court that its investigation in a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and others was "complete" and it wanted to file the charge sheet in the matter.

The agency had informed Justice Vipin Sanghi that a case was made out against Virbhadra and others and since the investigation was over, they would like to file a charge sheet.
Additional Solicitor General P S Patwalia had said that as per the order passed earlier by the Himachal Pradesh High Court, CBI cannot file a charge sheet without that court's permission.
