Meet the 'Best worker in India' T.Venkaiah

A GHMC worker who swept the roads of Hyderabad and disposed garbage for 16 years without taking a single leave makes him a hero.

T. Venkaiah, Rajendranagar GHMC sanitation worker has been named the “Best worker in India” by Ministry of urban development. Venkaiah is among the top three in the country to be honoured with an award.

The GHMC Circle 24 worker had earlier worked for the gram panchayat department when Rajendranagar was not merged with Greater Hyderabad.

Venkaiah’s persistence and punctuality paid him off. Not only this, Venkaiah also educates the residents about solid waste management. I would not get a good sleep if the streets under my control were not cleaned properly, said Venkataiah.
