Woman biker, Sana Iqbal, from Hyderabad, who drove across the country to fight against suicide, died in a car crash at the outskirts of Hyderabad.

According to police Sana and her husband, Abdul Nadeem had went out on a drive in the early hours of Tuesday when their car rammed a median on the Outer Ring Road at Narsingi.

The accident occurred around 4 am in the morning and the car was being driven by Nadeem, said Police.

Narsingi inspector Nadeem said, “Sana died at the incident site, while her husband has suffered serious injuries in the incident.”

According to a sub-inspector of Narsingi, a case has been registered under Indian Penal Code sections 304 (A) (causing death by negligence) and 337 of IPC (causing hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others).

Narsingi sub-inspector Sudhir Kumar said, “In our initial investigation we have learnt that the card crashed into the median after over speeding.”

He added that left side of the car was destroyed due to the impact.

Sana’s friends and family members have raised suspicion over the accident after a text message sent by her got widely circulated on the social media.

Sana in the message had reportedly stated that her husband or in-laws should be held responsible in case she died of heart attack or brain stroke.

“We are investigation the case in all angle. We have learnt that the message was sent by Sana a few weeks ago to her friend,” said an inspector.

Sana solo-riding had travelled 38,000 kilometers across 29 states and union territories. She had started her campaign against depression and suicides in November 2015 after she went into depression.

During her travel, Sana used to hold counselling session gave speeches at schools and colleges across India.
