The Indian Air Forces’ C-130J Hercules plane has set a record of having the longest flight onboard. The IAF announced the development on its Twitter development.

Indian Air Force on its Twitter handle wrote, “LONGEST FLIGHT -A Gruelling 13Hrs31Min non-Stop flight by #C130J crew is not only an #IAF record but also a feat by C130's Globally. The team got airborne at  FirstLight on 18Nov2011 & landed only at 06:31PM.This required great Courage, Skill & Strength on part of the #TeamIAF.”

IAF’s Hercules is Lockheed Martin’s four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. The plane is an update of C-130J with flight deck, new engines and other hi-tech systems. The plane can takeoffs and landing from unprepared runways, It is largely used as gunship during aerial assaults, search and rescue mission.

India has six Hercules aircrafts. The aircrafts were brought from United States at the cost of Rs 6000 crore in 2010.
