New Delhi:

While the country is yet to get over the sudden and unexpected demise of Sheila Dikshit, the last letter of the former Delhi chief minister, accessed by media, is taking the internet by storm. Yes! Reports are coming in from all corners of media, revealing the last words of Dikshit, who died of cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Delhi last Saturday.

The 81-year-old Congress warhorse, who gave Delhi its modern look, had reportedly written to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, just two days before her death. The letter, which came on the heels of the Congress' disastrous performance in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, slams former Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken for seeking pre-poll alliance in the capital.

Dikshit was of the opinion that Maken, in his vested interest, has been misleading Congress leader PC Chacko and the duo has recently taken some steps which were going against the party in both national and state level politics. The Congress veteran also sought an internal probe in the party, pointing out at the discord among leaders in the Delhi unit of the Congress.

The Congresswoman believed that despite the presence of over thousands of members in the Delhi Congress, including the NSUI, Youth Congress and the Mandal, the organisations were not active anywhere across the capital. Three new spokespersons were also appointed to strengthen the organisation in the run up to the General Elections 2019.

Besides, there were several other issues which were the reason behind the growing differences between Dikshit and Chacko in the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee. The conflicts between the two first came to light days ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. While many veterans, along with Chacko, were in favour of the pre-poll alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Dikshit was against it.

Dikshit had reportedly gave the letter to Gandhi on July 18 and a day after she called on senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel to discuss several ongoing issues concerning the party. Next day, she was admitted to Delhi's Fortis Escorts hospital following a cardiac arrest in morning and breathed her last same day in the afternoon.

The three-time chief minister of Delhi, who kept herself away from active politics for years, was again appointed as the president of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee earlier this year, in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
