Income Tax dept conducts raids at 33 locations in Chennai

The Income Tax department on Tuesday conducted raids at 21 locations in Chennai, including premises of Spectrum Mall's owner, Patel group, MARG group, Milan group and Ganga foundations group.

The Income Tax sleuths also conducted searches at 12 locations outside the capital city.  

On November 17, the taxmen had conducted searches in the office block of the Poes Garden residence of Jayalalithaa.

A search had been launched at the office block and a room used by jailed and deposed AIADMK leader V K Sasikala. The I-T team had searched Jayalalithaa's aide Poongundran's room, records room and another room used by Sasikala.
