New Delhi:

The Income Tax Department (ITD) sleuths on Wednesday conducted raids at multiple locations linked to Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot in connection with a tax evasion case. A team of over 60 ITD and police officials raided at least 16 premises linked to Gahlot in the national capital and adjoining Gurgaon.

The raids were part of the investigation in a tax evasion case against Brisk Infrastructure and Developers Pvt Ltd and Corporate International Financial Services Limited. Both the firms are operated and owned by the family members and relatives of the Aam Aadmi Party leader.

Reacting to the development, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The AAP chief said that while “friends” bank defaulters and scamsters like Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi were absconding, raids were being conducted on AAP leaders.

“Friendship with Nirav Modi, Mallya and raids on us? Modiji, earlier you had ordered raids on me, Satyender Jain, Manish Sisodia. What happened to that? Did you find anything? No? Then at least you should have apologised to the people of Delhi for continuously bothering the elected government,” Kejriwal tweeted.
