Search engine giant Google on Wednesday, August 15 dedicated a doodle, displaying an ‘Indian Truck Art’ to celebrate India's 72nd Independence Day with patriotic zeal and fervour. The artsy doodle features a slew of images of the country’s colourful flowers and mighty birds and animals. While a couple of peacocks are seen crossing their beaks at the centre of a pond, a Royal Bengal tiger and an elephant flanked the national birds from both sides.
Besides that, the Independence Day doodle inlcudes India's national flower, the lotus with the sun rising in the backdrop and a riot of colourful flowers.
"A long-standing tradition in this four million square kilometre nation where truckers who live on the road surround themselves with cheerful folk art to occupy their minds during long months away from their families," Google said in a statement.
Clicking on the colourful doodle will take you to a number of entries on Independence Day, including videos, news reports and portals offering general information on the subject.
In the past few years, the Google’s Doodle incorporated the magnificent Red Fort, various versions of the Indian flag, Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi March and Indian postage stamps during the Independence Day celebration of India and showcased the rich culture of the country.
