New Delhi:

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological patriarch Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), saying that the country has become their slave.

While addressing an Other Backward Classes (OBC) convention in Delhi’s Talkatora stadium, Gandhi said, “Everyone, including BJP MPs are scared to speak. And those who do speak, the BJP does not listen to them. It only listens to RSS. It’s like India has become a slave of the BJP and RSS.”

Gandhi said that there was no dearth of skilled manpower in India as suggested by Prime Minister Narendra but they were not given attention.

“India’s Prime Minister said that we don’t have skilled people. This is a lie. There is no dearth of skill in OBC people. They are full of talent. But they lack capital and Narendra Modi government is not paying any heed on them,” he said.

In an attempt to woo the OBC community ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress president said that his party stood by them for the last 70 years and will continue to support them for their rights.

The leader of India’s grand old party also accused the central government of favouring big business tycoons and ignoring the poor.

“People who really work are confined to the back room, but the profit of their labour is enjoyed by someone else. In one year, Modiji has given Rs 2.5 lakh crore to industrialists but he wouldn’t give a single penny to the farmers,” the Congress chief added.
