Condoling the death of former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the country has lost a great leader. Taking to Twitter, Delhi CM said, “India has lost a great leader. Sushma ji was a very warm and remarkable person. May her soul rest in peace.”

Also, the Delhi government has announced two-day state mourning on the demise of Sushma Swaraj. The former External Affairs Minister was Delhi’s first woman Chief Minister. Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia took to Twitter to make the announcement. “Delhi govt will observe two days state mourning as a mark of respect in the memory of former Chief Minister & senior leader respected Sushma Swaraj ji,” Sisodia said on micro-blogging site.

In what could be called a sheer expression of true leadership and an extension of caring self, former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj always came to the rescue of Indians and even foreign nationals, every time she was asked for.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also paid tribute to former Union minister Sushma Swaraj.

“Deeply saddened, shocked at sudden passing away of Sushma Swaraj ji. I knew her since 1990s. Even though our ideologies differed, we shared many cordial times in Parliament. An outstanding politician, leader, good human being. Will miss her. Condolences to her family and admirers,” ANI quoted her as saying.

The 67-year-old BJP veteran was known for her no-nonsense approach when it comes to providing assistance to troubled Indians across the globe. From resolving people's visa problems to finding missing people and even helping people reach their destinations safely, Swaraj, the first female chief minister of Delhi, came to the rescue of many time and again.
