India on China’s move blocking Azhar as global terrorist: Double standard will only undermine resolution to combat terrorism

After China blocked the move to list Masood Azhar as a global terrorist, the ministry of external affairs on Thursday said India is deeply disappointed with the neighbour’s step.

“Deeply disappointed once again after a single country blocked international consensus on designation of an acknowledged terrorist Masood Azhar,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The MEA further said,” India strongly believes that double standards and selective approaches will only undermine international community’s resolve to combat terrorism.”

“We can only hope that there will be a realization that accommodating with terrorism for narrow objectives is both short sighted and counter productive," the MEA said.
