India has slammed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his “complete denial” of terrorism that stems from its soil during his address at the UNGA. Soon after Sharif addressed the UNGA, MEA Spokesperson Vikas Swarup slammed the Pakistani PM in a series of tweet for hailing Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani and denying Pakistan’s hand in Uri terror attack.

He tweeted, “Pak PM Sharif at #UNGA in complete denial of Uri terror attack. 19 infiltration attempts stopped at LoC this year. Indigenous??!!”.

“PM Sharif at #UNGA says India poses unacceptable conditions to dialogue. India’s only condition is an end to terrorism. This not acceptable?” MEA questioned.

“Pak PM Sharif at #UNGA glorifies Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani in UN’s highest forum. Shows continued Pak attachment to terrorism,” the MEA Twitter handle hit out.

Sharif on Wednesday night attacked India over the Kashmir issue in an audacious speech, saying, “Kashmiris want freedom from India. Peace between India and Pakistan cannot be finally achieved without resolution to the Kashmir dispute.”

Sharif also hailed Burhan Wani, the terrorist who was killed by Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. “The young leader murdered by Indian forces has emerged as a symbol of latest Kashmiri Intifada,” he said.

The provocative remarks from Sharif came two days after the terrorist attack at an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri, which had left 18 jawans martyred and 19 other soldiers injured, while four terrorists were gunned down.

The Narendra Modi government has come out strongly in the wake of the Uri attacks. It was reported on Wednesday that PM Modi has given a nod for surgical strikes at terrorists camp across the LoC in PoK.
