Srinagar:
The Indian army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naugam sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while a militant was killed in the anti-infiltration operation.
"An infiltration bid was foiled along the LoC in Naugam sector," an army official said.
He further said that a weapon was also recovered from the slain militant.
The armed forces had earlier foiled another infiltration bid in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Security agencies are on high alert as they fear infiltration bids can increase on account of upcoming winter and snow fall which will cover mountain passes.
Apart from infiltration bids, armed forces are consistently battling ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
