Indian Army jawans on Sunday night gunned downed a terrorist and two regulars of Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) were injured trying to sneak into India from across the Line of Control (LoC) at Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Monday.

A senior officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “Three Indian Army jawans were also injured during the operation.”

The police officer added that Pakistani Army jawans along with terrorists were trying to sneak in from across the LoC in Gulpur area of Khari Kamara sector on Sunday late.

“The Pakistani soldiers since the evening shelled mortar to cover the BAT and militant intrudition,” added the police officer

Jammu-based Army PRO Lt Col Devender Anand said, “We have recovered a Pakistani flag and huge cache of arms and ammunitions from the gunned down intruder.”

The official added that they will offer to hand over the body to the Pakistani Army.
