Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria on Friday called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan at the latter’s Bani Gala residence and discussed range of issues, including the prospects of India-Pakistan relationship, according to sources.
Imran khan-led PTI emerged as the single largest party in the recently held Pakistan General Elections 2018 and Khan is set to take oath as the prime minister of Pakistan on August 18, 2018.
The meeting came in the backdrop of Khan advocating for good relations with India.
“We have to resolve Kashmir issue by sitting across the table, If India’s leadership is willing then the both of us can solve this issue through dialogue. It will be good for the subcontinent also,” Khan had said at a press conference on July 26, 2018 after his electoral victory.
Bisaria congratulated the PTI chief on his electoral victory and gifted a cricket bat, which was autographed by the entire Indian cricket team.
Meanwhile, Khan tendered an unconditional written apology to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday for violating the secrecy of the ballot by voting in open.
