Dhaka:

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has expressed grief over the death of an Indian girl Tarishi Jain, who was among the 20 people killed with sharp weapons in Dhaka hostage siege. "I have spoken to her father Shri Sanjeev Jain and conveyed our deepest condolences. The country is with them in this hour of grief," tweeted Sushma.

"I am extremely pained to share that the terrorists have killed Tarushi, an Indian girl who was taken hostage in the terror attack in Dhaka." Sushma said that the 19-year-old Tarishi was a Berkeley student and she had passed out from American School Dhaka.

Tarishi, 18, holidaying in Dhaka was among 20 foreigners who were hacked to death by ISIS militants in a terror attack at a restaurant in Bangladesh capital’s high-security diplomatic zone.

Another Indian, a doctor by profession, had a narrow escape, as he spoke fluent Bengali and the terrorists mistook him for a Bangladeshi.
