After the abrogation of article 370 last year, the security grid on Line of Control was strengthened and all efforts were made to stop infiltration from across the border. The security forces have managed to cut down infiltration by more than 75 percent. Day and night vigil and surveillance with the help of drone cameras and other techniques have helped security forces to a big extent. Indian Army says that this year less than 30 terrorists managed to cross over to Kashmir. While last year the number had gone to more than 130.

“On LoC, conditions are under control. Ceasefire violations continue by Pakistan, trying to help infiltrate terrorists. This year we have managed to stop infiltration to a big extent. Last year there were 130 terrorists who infiltrated and this year it’s only about 30, that’s the change we have brought in and will definitely have an impact of peace across the valley, ‘’ says General Officer in Command, 15 CORP, Lt Gen B S Raju. The forces have not only had success on the LoC but also in the hinterland. More than 180 terrorists were killed this year in various operations across the valley.

Around 100 OGW’s were arrested by security forces by which they have managed to break the militant network to a lot of extent. Two dozen militants have been apprehended alive. There are around 250-300 terrorists waiting at the launch pads to Infiltrate to the valley. But with the tight security all around the border, most of the attempts have been foiled. ‘’Nothing has changed with regard to Pakistan; they continue to send across terrorists and whatever they try to do we will foil it. While the security forces continue with Operation All Out. There are efforts being made by them to bring back youth who have joined the militant ranks in the valley. Forces say many youngsters who had joined were brought back and handed over to their families. Even at encounter sites, if the trapped militants are local, security forces always give them an option of surrender and in many circumstances, they were successful.
