Parents of a month-old baby in Maharashtra’s Latur town named her ‘Swachhata’ after being inspired by the cleanliness campaign, initiated by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
The baby girl who was born on February 21 was officially named Swachhata on Friday, Congress corporator Vikrant Gojamgunde informed PTI. Gojamgunde is the chairman of the civic body’s standing committee of the municipal ward where the family of the new-born baby resides.
While talking to PTI, Vikrant said that her parents, Mohan Kuril and Kajal Kuril were residents of the ward 5 of Latur. He revealed that the naming ceremony of the baby was conducted on Friday at the Latur municipal corporation office.

The parents are said to be inspired by the cleanliness campaign which was carried out in the ward.
Talking about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the campaign is being run by government of India to clean the roads, streets and infrastructure of Indian cities, towns and villages. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the campaign on October 2, 2014
