With International Yoga Day upon us, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to lead a crowd of over 60,000 enthusiasts in the sprawling campus of Dehradun's Forest Research Institute (FRI) on Thursday, June 21.
Ahead of PM Modi's visit to the capital of Uttarakhand, over 3,000 security personnel, including commandos and sharpshooters have been deployed at FRI "leaving nothing to chance".

The forest department is scanning the area giving a "final touch" to the elaborate arrangements for security, electricity, sanitation and healthcare at the venue. Around 60 door frame metal detectors will be placed at the gates of FRI, while CCTVs have been installed in and around the Forest Research campus for surveillance.
The authorities have installed compactor machine for immediate disposal of the garbage wastes. A fleet of buses will be provided from the Rangers Ground for people coming from Haridwar, Rishikesh and other places to take part in the event.

Authorities at Dehradun FRI will kick-start the yoga day event at 6 am on Thursday. The participants are expected to reach the venue at 5 am. They will be provided with waterproof pouches for keeping mobile phone and bags for shoes.

This will be the fourth edition of the International Yoga Day and different kind of asanas will be practised at FRI to raise awareness about the multiple benefits of practising yoga. The theme for Yoga Day 2018 is "Yoga for Peace."

In 2014, United Nations declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day following PM Modi's call for a global celebration of yoga, an ancient practice which began in India 5,000 years back.
