‘Operation dreams’ by young Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sandeep Chaudhary bore fruit as 38 of his students qualified the written test for the post of sub-inspector in different wings of the state police. Operation dreams was an initiative to prepare needy students for competitive examinations in Kashmir.
Earlier, in June the Jammu and Kashmir police conducted a test for the recruitment of sub-inspectors in the executive, armed and telecom wing. The results of the test were declared on Wednesday with 2,181 candidates short-listed for a personality evaluation test.

150 students including seven girls were enrolled under Operation dreams, who attended early morning classes for two hours by officer Sandeep Chaudhary. 38 students from his coaching centre have now qualified the exam in the recently declared results.
Sandeep Chaudhary, from Punjab, started the initiative from May 30 this year. Sandeep did his BA and MA from Indira Gandhi National Open University. He later joined Punjab University for regular course in journalism for about three months and later dropped out to join MA in public administration from IGNOU.

Police stations under Chaudhary’s grasp have registered more than 220 FIRs under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act since his posting. These included 70 cases in the first five months of 2018.
