New Delhi:
A day after the National Investigation Agency (NIA), in a coordinated raid across Uttar Pradesh, arrested 10 people in connection with a new ISIS-like module, Delhi's Patiala House court on Thursday sent all of them to 12-days NIA remand. Early in the day, those accused were produced before the court on suspicion of being members of the ISIS-inspired group. The group was allegedly planning suicide attacks and serial blasts, targeting politicians as also government installations, in Delhi and other parts of north India.
"NIA raids matter: Delhi's Patiala House Court sends all the accused arrested by NIA to 12 days remand," the news agency ANI reported. However, the court has allowed the family members and parents of five accused to meet them inside the court.

Meanwhile, briefing the media, lawyer of the accused said, "They are students. What NIA has recovered includes tractor’s power nozzle which they planted and called it a rocket launcher. What they are calling explosives are actually ‘sutli bombs’ that are used in Diwali. There is a lot of fabrication".
Those arrested in the case include, Mufti Mohammed Suhail alias Hazrath (29), Anas Yunus (24), Rashid Zafar Raq alias Zafar (23), Saeed alias Sayeed (28), Saeed's brother Raees Ahmad, Zubair Malik (20), Zubair's brother Zaid (22), Saqib Iftekar (26), Mohammed Irshad (in late 20s) and Mohammed Azam (35).
All of them were produced amidst tight security and with covered faces before Additional Sessions Judge Ajay Pandey who ordered in-camera proceedings in the case. NIA had sought 15-day custodial interrogation of the accused who were arrested from various parts of the national capital and Uttar Pradesh.
