Describing the Centre’s move to demonetise high-value currency notes as a “cure” to black money, BJP on Saturday said that it was surprising to see some political parties opposing the drive.
“It is surprising to see that some political parties are opposing the cure to black money. However, these parties have the liberty to have their own views,” National Spokesperson of BJP Nalin Kohli said in Kolkata.
The Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee, has been vociferous from the very first day of the announcement of demonetisation, saying that the move was against the common people and should be rolled back.
Speaking at the seminar organised by the Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Kohli said that the fundamentals of doing business would change from now on.
He said that demonetisation would help in expanding the planned budget manifold.
“There is a need to do that. We can’t afford to have a parallel economy and aspire for growth. This a disruption for transformation,” he said.
