It’s time to revoke Article 370 and 35 A, says BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit

BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit has blamed Article 370 of the Constitution for the creation of ‘separatist emotion’ and ‘time has come to revoke the article’ on Thursday.

Virender Gupta, BJP Jammu and Kashmir unit spokesperson,  said, “It’s time for the people to say goodbye to Article 370 and Article 35 A.”

Gupta added, “Both the articles have done more damage to the state than benefiting it.”

He added the two Articles of the Constitution is hampering progress of the state. 

Article 35 A empowers Jammu and Kashmir legislature to define permanent citizens. While, Article 370 grants special status to J&K while 
Gupta claims that Article 370 has created a separated psychology and is acting as a breeding ground for separatist emotions.

He added that the  Article is responsible for keeping the ongoing issue of Jammu and Kashmir alive and alienation of people of the valley from mainstream.

“Due to the articles external forces are managing to interfere in the internal matters of  our country and challenge the integrity of the nation,” said Gupta.

The BJP spokesperson added Jammu and Kashmir is still underdeveloped and backward in may fields in spite of huge fund support from the Central government.
