Jain woman joins husband in monkhood; renounces three year old daughter, Rs 100 crore property

Anamika Rathore is set to go on a spiritual path of renunciation, two days after her husband Sumit Rathore became a Jain monk, renouncing property worth Rs 100 crore and  their three-year-old daughter, Ibhya.

Sumit, a businessman who had returned to Neemuch to manage the family business after completing a diploma in import-export management from a college in London announced his decision to adopt monkhood on August 22, and Anamika who will now be known as Sadhvi Anakaar followed suit.

Akhil Bharatiya Sadhumargi Jain Shravak Sangh Neemuch district in-charge Sandeep Khabia said the function was held in Surat under Acharya Ramlal Ji Maharaj, the same guru who had initiated her husband to monkhood.

The pair, who is likely one of the youngest to renounce worldly life and take up sanyas, faced major opposition from various quarters mainly becuase of their daughter.

Anamika’s father, Ashok Chandaliya, former Neemuch district president of the BJP, has come forward to take care of his granddaughter, as he made peace with the decision of his daughter and son-in-law.
