Jalandhar:
A Jalandhar woman furious over her husband’s alleged extra-marital affair allegedly chopped off his genitals and then disposed them in a toilet on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.
The Punjab Police said, “The victim, Azad Singh is a resident of Joginder Nagar. He is battling for life in a local hospital.”
“The Singh’s wife, Sukwant Kaur, has been arrested,” said a senior police officer deployed at Jalandhar district.
Jalandhar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Satiner Kumar told the media that Kaur using a knife cut off Singh’s genitals while he was sleeping and later flushed them in a toilet.
“The accused told the police during questioning that her husband was having extra marital affair. She told us that even after repeated requests to cut off his ties with other women he did not mend his ways which made her furious and led to the incident,” added police.
Singh was rushed for medical attention by his family members after he cried for help.
A complaint against Kaur was lodged at the local police station by Singh’s father. FIR has been registered under relevant IPC sections.
